Location: Mentor, OH Job Type: Contract to Perm Industry: Aerospace Benefits: Available Position Overview JobsRUs.com is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our client?s Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division in Mentor, OH. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support innovative aerospace technology within a dynamic Research & Development (R&D) Test Lab. The Mechanical Engineer will support the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical and hydraulic systems used in aerospace applications. This role will work closely with senior engineers and the R&D Lab team to develop test capabilities, conduct development and certification testing, troubleshoot equipment, and improve test stand automation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who enjoys working in a laboratory environment, can work independently while following direction from senior engineers, and thrives in a collaborative, high-performance team. Key Responsibilities Support R&D laboratory projects and initiatives under the direction of senior engineers. Design, develop, and improve pressure, flow, and spray test stands and associated equipment. Improve test stand automation through the use of control valves, pressure sensors, flow sensors, and instrumentation. Develop and enhance test stand control hardware and safety circuitry. Support calibration activities for laboratory and production test stands to ensure accurate and reliable measurements. Perform hands-on mechanical system design, fabrication, troubleshooting, and testing. Support development and certification testing of aerospace fuel-system components and systems. Collect, analyze, and document test data and results. Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences. Present project plans, test results, and recommendations to engineering teams and leadership. Collaborate with other engineers and technical personnel to support department projects and priorities. Contribute to a High-Performance Team environment and assist with other engineering activities as needed. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a strong commitment to a zero-incident safety culture. Required Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Hands-on experience with mechanical systems design, fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting. Strong communication and technical documentation skills. Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team. Willingness to occasionally travel to company facilities, local universities, and suppliers. Must be a U.S. Person. Preferred Qualifications Master?s or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience with hydraulic or fluid systems. Experience designing, building, or modifying test stands or test equipment. Experience with mechatronics, automation, or controls. Experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems. Experience with pressure and flow measurement equipment. Experience with calibration processes. Familiarity with soldering, fabrication, or laboratory equipment. Experience with MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, or ANSYS. Aerospace, gas turbine, fuel systems, or R&D testing experience. | |
