Working days : Monday - Friday

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Safety operator equipment within the Hose Assembly Value Stream at acceptable quality and productivity levels.

Essential Functions:

Shared responsibility for finished goods meeting or exceeding customer expectations
Identify any special instructions or customer requirements
Pull set-up sheet from computer to select proper tooling, crimp dimensions, drawings, pressure ratings
Pulling components to process orders and inspect tubing or hose prior to process
Check all dimensions of hose and crimps being processed against the available drawings and or crimp requirements
Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory
Make labels for hose product and properly complete production reports
Pressure testing of hose assembly
Adhere to quality standards and guidelines. Maintain accurate records
Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5s practices
Detect and report problem areas or unusual conditions to the Value Stream Team Lead.
Perform related and other duties assigned by the Value Stream Team Lead.

Department Specific or Non-Essential Functions:

Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.
Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and environmental risk.
Report all safety and environmental incidents to management immediately.
Prevent excess waste of product and components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
Other duties may be assigned at a later time

Education required:
High School diploma or GED

Experience:
Production work preferred but not required.
On the job training from 1 to 8 weeks or extend to 10 weeks if needed.

Preferred Skills or Qualifications:

Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Sound decision making skills.
Good math, reading, writing skills.
Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention.
Ability to work well in a team environment.

Skills or Competencies:
Basic computer skills.
Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks.
Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail.

Organizational Relationships or Scope:
Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader
Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment

Working Conditions:
The employee may be subject to:

High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.

Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)
Standing is required for extended periods of time.
Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
