DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for safely operating the manufacturing facility to produce quality finished products and chemical intermediates in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and safety or regulatory requirements.

Key Areas of Accountability or Responsibility:
Safely operates and monitors the manufacturing facility.
Includes monitoring and adjusting the plant via computer control systems as well as making outside rounds, readings, and making adjustments, transfers, etc. in the field.
Independently starts up and shuts down the process unit as needed.
Loads raw materials into process areas C10, TPP, catalyst.
Catches and analyzes process samples.
Provides troubleshooting expertise and assists in resolving process upsets.
Inspects equipment and identifies repairs needed.
Prepares equipment for maintenance including clearing and LOTOTO of equipment
Conducts risk assessments and initiates work permits to ensure safe work conditions for those performing work.
Cleans and maintains process area according to cGMP requirements and Client zoning guidelines.
Accurately completes batch records for cGMP documentation.
Completes logbook entries to properly document activity within the unit.
Documents and reports any quality deviations for follow up by the Quality Process Coordinator.
Serve as HAZOP team member (operations expert) in assigned area
Provides input to assist with nonconformance investigations and prepares associated documentation.
Maintains skills and abilities through classroom training classes, computer-based training modules, Required training sheets, etc. Helps assess training effectiveness
Considers safety awareness & accident prevention when performing tasks. Ensures process lines are grounded during transfer of materials.
Works to SHE standards and encourages fellow colleagues to work to the same standards.
Displays and promotes positive safety behaviors at all times; uses proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures to ensure that self and others go home safe each day
that area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels
that all people in the area comply with the safety directives and keep the area neat and clean.
Follows all SHE instructions and procedures to include awareness of and following all Client Life Saving Rules.
Acts in such a way that safety awareness and accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks.
Ensures that all personal safety, quality and assigned training is up to date and in compliance.
Supports and follows the policy of reporting incidents, near misses and improvement possibilities.
Encourages co-workers and management to improve SHE results and incidents.
Ensures Quality procedures, Management Directives and Quality improvement projects are supported and followed.
Reports any quality deviations or non-conformances observed.

Skills:
Two or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred

Education:
High School diploma or GED
Process Technology degree is preferred
Valid & unrestricted driver?s license

Required level of experiences
Two or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred
